Karachi: The Inter-Board Coordination Commission has recognized online home learning at the school level, after the decision that out-of-school students can now enroll in online schooling programs of private or private schools to study up to matric.
The Inter-Board Coordination Commission (IBCC), the federal government body that accredits A and O levels in Pakistan, has recognized online home learning at school level across the country and online home learning at matriculation level. Accepting the examinations held and the results thereof and granting him equivalency for further education. This approval was given in the meeting of IBCC.
Besides, in the meeting, Diploma of Information Technology (DIT) education has been increased from one to two years at the level of technical education across the country, and it has been declared equivalent to computer science, but it also includes related additional subjects. have been added. Notifications regarding both the decisions have been issued.

He said that the proposal came from the education boards of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but the decision will apply to the boards of all four provinces and Azad Jammu and Kashmir and if any school affiliated to the respective boards wants to start online home schooling in that province. The Board of Education will also be able to conduct the examination of such students at the matriculation level, however this examination will be on physical basis and there will be no scope for online facility for the examination.
Apart from this, in the light of the decision and notification regarding the declaration of DIT as equivalent to Inter in the meeting of IBCC, 3 separate subject combinations consisting of three subjects have been created for this diploma equivalent to Inter. In which “Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science” is placed on the first place, “Mathematics, Economics and Computer Science” on the second place, and “Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science” on the third place.
According to the Executive Director IBCC, in this regard, the technical boards have made a scheme of studies by preparing a 2-year DIT curriculum.
It should be noted that despite the two-year DIT being considered equivalent to inter-computer science, admission of such students to the respective faculty at the university level will be a challenge for the students at present.
IBCC says that they will soon write letters to HEC and universities for the purpose of admissions in universities for the convenience of students.
Besides, according to the Chairman of Sindh Board of Technical Education, Dr. Masroor Sheikh, this proposal along with the formation of the curriculum was presented by the Sindh Technical Board itself.
He said that we were producing computer operators for the job market with the one-year diploma that was being conducted till now, but due to non-transfer of credit, students could not get further education on this basis, which has become possible now.
