Khanewal: Asim Jameel, son of Maulana Tariq Jameel, a well-known religious scholar, died due to bullet injury.
According to DSP Mian Chinnu Salimmarth, Asim Jameel committed suicide by shooting himself in the chest, he was taken to Talamba Rural Health Center in critical condition but he could not be revived.
Asim Jameel’s death was also confirmed by the doctors of the Rural Health Center.
DSP Mian Chanu says that the reason for Asim Jameel’s suicide has not been revealed yet.
Maulana Tariq Jameel has confirmed the death of his son in his X (Twitter) message and said that my son Asim Jameel has passed away. Calling his son’s death accidental, he has requested everyone to pray for his son’s forgiveness.

My son Asim Jameel passed away today in Talamba. This accidental death made the atmosphere mournful. We request you all to remember us in your prayers on this sad occasion. May Allah grant my son a high place in Jannat al-Firdous.

Meanwhile, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, taking notice of the death of Maulana Tariq Jameel’s son, has sought a report from RPO Multan.
He said that the cause of death should be determined in the light of evidence and forensic report.
According to Punjab Police, DPO Khanewal and senior police officers are present at the spot and evidence has been collected.
