World Cup;  South Africa defeated Pakistan after a thrilling match

In the 26th match of the ICC World Cup, South Africa defeated Pakistan by 1 wicket.

In the match played in Chennai, South Africa achieved the target of 271 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 47 overs.

On behalf of South Africa, Aiden Markram played a key role in the victory of the team by playing a brilliant innings of 91 runs.

David Miller 29, captain Temba Bwuma 28, Quinton de Kock 24, van der Dusen 21, Marco Jensen 20, Henrik Klaasen 12, Gerald Coetzee 10 and Lungi Ngadi 4 were out.

Keshav Maharaj and Tabriz Shamsi were dismissed for 7 and 4 runs respectively.

On behalf of Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi took 3 wickets while Haris Rauf, Mohammad Wasim Jr. and Osama Mir took 2 and 2 wickets respectively.

Earlier, the entire Pakistan team was bowled out for 270 runs in the 47th over against South Africa thanks to the brilliant partnership of 84 runs by Shadab Khan and Saud Shakeel.

Opener Abdullah Shafiq lost his wicket early, he scored 9 off 17 balls while Imamul Haq was the guest for 12 runs. Muhammad Rizwan 31, Muhammad Nawaz 24, Iftikhar Ahmed 21, Captain Babar Azam 50, Muhammad Nawaz 24, Shaheen Afridi scored 2 runs.

In the partnership of the sixth wicket, Shadab Khan and Saud Shakeel established a partnership of 84 runs, but Shadab Khan 43 and Saud Shakeel returned to the pavilion with the highest individual score of 52 runs.

For South Africa, Tabriz Shamsi took 4 wickets, Marco Johnson 3 wickets, Gerald Coetzee 2 wickets and Langi Ngidi 1 wicket.

Earlier, national team captain Babar Azam won the toss and decided to bat first.

He said that two changes have been made in the team, Muhammad Wasim Jr. has replaced Hasan Ali while Muhammad Nawaz is part of the playing XI in place of Usama Mir.

On this occasion, the captain of the South African team, Tamba Bauma, said that Pakistan is a strong opponent, and they want to brighten the hopes of playing the semi-finals in the mega event by including success in the match.
