Approval of Rs 8 billion funds for PIA

Islamabad: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet has approved Rs 8 billion funds for PIA.

It was held under the chairmanship of the Caretaker Federal Minister for Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs Dr. Shamshad Akhtar. The single agenda presented by the Aviation Division was considered in the meeting.

According to the announcement, the sanction amount to PIA will be provided by the Civil Aviation Authority. Civil Aviation Authority will provide funds to PIA for emergency needs. Agreement between Civil Aviation and PIA has also been approved.

PIA’s operations will improve after receiving the money, a PIA spokesperson said

According to the spokesperson of PIA, in the next few days, PIA’s operations will improve after obtaining the amount of money, the national airline will use the funds for the necessary issues on a priority basis.

According to PIA spokesperson, payments will be made to PSO, ground handling company, and loans will be paid immediately.
