the price of sugar; Sugar mill owners' request to constitute a larger bench was rejected

Lahore: The High Court rejected the plea of sugar mill owners to constitute a larger bench on the issue related to sugar prices.

The Lahore High Court gave a safe verdict on the issue of setting sugar prices by the Punjab government, in which a 2-member bench of the court rejected the request of the sugar mill owners to form a 5-member larger bench.

The court has declared in its decision that only a 2-member bench will hear the petitions against the Punjab government’s notification regarding sugar prices. A 2-member bench available from October 30 will begin the hearing.

It should be noted that the sugar mills owners had challenged the July 28 notification.
