World Cup;  South Africa beat Bangladesh by 149 runs

In the 23rd match of the ICC World Cup, South Africa defeated Bangladesh by 149 runs.

Chasing South Africa’s 383 runs in the match played at the Wankhede Cricket Stadium, the Bangladesh team was bowled out for 233 runs in 46.4 overs. Mahmudullah stood out with 111 runs.

South African batsman Quinton de Kock, who played a brilliant innings of 174 runs off 140 balls with the help of 15 fours and seven sixes, was declared the man of the match.

After defeating Bangladesh, South Africa moved from third to second place on the points table with 8 points, while New Zealand moved from second to third place and Bangladesh to tenth place.

Chasing the target, Bangladesh’s innings was started by Tanzid Hasan and Latin Das, but Tanzid Hasan and Latin Das got out after scoring 12 runs and 22 runs.

Najam-ul-Hasan scored 0 runs, captain Shakib-ul-Hasan 1 and Mushfiqur-Rahim 8 runs.

Mehdi Hasan Miraz scored 11, Naseem Ahmed 19, Hassan Mehmood 15, Mustafizur Rehman scored 11 runs while Shariful Islam remained not out with 6 runs. Mahmudullah was the top scorer with 111 runs.

South Africa scored 382 runs for the loss of 5 wickets against Bangladesh and played all the overs. The South African openers once again failed, Rassie van der Dusen returned to the pavilion after scoring 12 runs, while skipper Aiden Markram 60, Reza Hendricks was a guest for one run.

In the fourth wicket partnership, Quinton de Kock and Henrik Klaasen put on a partnership of 264 runs, but de Kock was unable to score a double century.

He played an innings of 174 runs off 140 balls with the help of 7 sixes and 15 fours. Henrik Klaasen scored 90 runs while David Miller scored 34 runs and Marco Jensen remained not out with one run.

Hassan Mehmood took 2 wickets while Mehdi Hassan, Shariful Islam and Shakib Al Hasan took one wicket each for Bangladesh.

Earlier, the captain of the South African team, Aiden Markram, had won the toss and decided to bat first.
