Islamabad: Leader of Awam Muslim League and pro-Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) politician Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed came to public after several days of hiding.
Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed was missing since his arrest from a private housing society, after which he gave an interview to private TV and came into public view yesterday. The said interview was aired today.
Sheikh Rasheed said about his hiding that ‘I went on preaching for forty days and wanted to give an interview because now it has become a ritual’.
He said that ‘My party is Awami Muslim League, of which I am the head and it is the smallest political party, I was and will be related to my party, I am ending it and not joining any party’.
He said that ‘Allah gave me the opportunity to spend forty days for the first time in my life and while I was preaching, no one harmed me, but everyone cooperated with me and all the days passed happily’.
