Lahore: Pervez Elahi’s plea to suspend the trial court’s decision in the Punjab Assembly recruitment case was rejected.
A hearing was held in the Lahore High Court on the issue of the trial court’s withdrawal of bail in the Punjab Assembly recruitment case against former Punjab Chief Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf President Parvaiz Elahi.
The court heard the request of Parvez Elahi and issued a notice to the anti-corruption agency for its response, while the court rejected the request to immediately suspend the decision of the trial court.
During the hearing, Parvez Elahi’s lawyer took a stand in the court that immediate injunctions are issued in state cases. In the petition filed by Parvez Elahi, it was stated that the trial court judge does not have the power to revoke the bail.
Justice Tanveer Sultan rejected the request to suspend the decision of the trial court and adjourned the hearing for an indefinite period.
