Israeli attack on hospital in Gaza, Pakistan including other countries strongly condemned

Islamabad / Istanbul: More than 500 people have been martyred and hundreds injured in an airstrike on a hospital in Gaza by the Israeli army, which has been strongly condemned by other countries including Pakistan.

A hospital in Gaza has become a pile of rubble after an Israeli rocket attack while there is also a heavy fire nearby, according to the Ministry of Health, the hospital was already full of injured and sick patients.

Various countries including Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Canada, Turkey, Qatar have strongly condemned the attack by Israel.

In a statement issued by the Foreign Office of Pakistan, the attack by Israel has been strongly condemned and said that targeting innocent people and hospitals is a violation of international law.

Saudi Arabia has described the attack on the hospital as a serious crime and said that the Israeli forces have committed a very serious crime and heinous act by attacking the hospital.

Egypt condemned the attack, saying the international community should intervene immediately to prevent such violations.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the Israeli attack on a hospital in Gaza was “appalling and absolutely unacceptable” and inexcusable.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the Gaza hospital attack was “the latest example of Israel’s attacks that are devoid of basic human values.” “I call on all humanity to take action to stop the atrocities in Gaza,” Erdogan wrote on social media platform X.

Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement strongly condemning the Israeli airstrike on a hospital in Gaza.

“The inclusion of hospitals, schools and other population centers in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip is a dangerous escalation,” the Qatari Foreign Ministry said.

Iran strongly condemned the attack on the Israeli hospital and termed the act as heinous.

The Jordanian Foreign Ministry also issued a statement on Tuesday strongly condemning Israel’s attack on the hospital.

The statement stressed the need to provide international protection to the Palestinian people and called for immediate efforts to end the ongoing war in Gaza.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has announced three days of mourning after a deadly airstrike on a hospital in Gaza.

Israeli army spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said there were no details yet on hospital deaths: “We will get the details and give the public accurate figures”.

Israel blamed the rocket attack on Hamas

Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said one of the rockets fired from inside Gaza passed near the hospital when it was hit. Citing “intelligence information” from multiple sources, he said the Islamic Jihad group was responsible for the failed launch that hit the hospital.

“Intelligence reports we have from multiple sources indicate that Islamic Jihad (Hamas) is responsible for the failed rocket that hit a hospital in Gaza.”

Al Jazeera’s Stephanie Decker, reporting from southern Israel, noted that Israel regularly blames civilian casualties on rocket fire from inside Gaza. “I have to say, they have said this before when they hit schools, hospitals and homes of innocent people in Gaza,” he said.
