Security forces killed two terrorists in two separate operations in South and North Waziristan while two soldiers were also martyred in the exchange of fire.
According to a statement issued by the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), on October 16, 2023, there were two fierce encounters between its own soldiers and terrorists in the districts of North and South Waziristan.
The first encounter took place in Asman Manza, a general area of South Waziristan district, where the hideouts of the terrorists were effectively targeted, during which one terrorist was killed and another was injured in the exchange of fire.
According to ISPR, however, during the fierce exchange of fire, Sepoy Sajid Azam (age 31 years, resident of Kotli, Azad Kashmir) fought bravely and embraced martyrdom.
The second operation was carried out in the general area of Miran Shah district of North Waziristan, where a terrorist was killed in a fierce exchange of fire between terrorists and forces while 27-year-old Sepoy Waris Khan, a resident of Sepai Karak, was martyred.
According to the spokesperson of Pakistan Army, search operation against terrorists is going on in both the areas.
The ISPR statement further said that Pakistan’s security forces are committed to eradicating the menace of terrorism from the country and such sacrifices of brave men strengthen our resolve.
