Lahore: Gang of 5 has come to light in FIA cybercrime circle Lahore, it has been revealed that the inspectors posted on contract in cybercrime allegedly took a citizen hostage and took a ransom of Rs 3 crore.
The gang includes Inspector Waqas, Fakhr, Abbas, Mossadegh and Hamza, who in gross violation of rules and regulations took hostages of citizens without any case. No action has been taken against the FIA officers yet.
A group of officers kept the citizen Majid hostage for two days in Lahore. FIA Cyber Crime Inspector Waqas, Sub-Inspector Mossadegh and Hamza allegedly abducted Shahri Majid from Haripur, the CCTV footage of which has also come to light. Inspectors posted on contract in cybercrime continued to allegedly torture civilian Majid.
FIA cybercrime inspectors kept asking Shahri Majid about various sports websites. It was revealed that the officers were in touch with a superior officer during the illegal operation, while Inspector Waqas and Sub-Inspector Mossadegh went to Haripur from Lahore without informing the in-charge.
The FIA officials informed the office editor about the additional director going on a special assignment. In the report, the cyber crime officer confirmed the incident and recommended criminal action against the officers involved in the incident, while also recommending termination of the contract of the officers.
The inspectors involved in the incident have owned luxury vehicles for a few years. The affected citizen also submitted an application to the FIA Cybercrime, while it has also been revealed that the Gang of 5 threatened the affected citizen.
In the past too, the incident of taking money by holding citizens hostage has happened. An inquiry into the incident has been ordered and according to Additional Director General Ahmed Jahangir Ishaq, action will be taken under the law.
