Pakistan's financial deficit will be 1137 billion more than the target: IMF

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has released the Fiscal Monitor Report 2023.

In the report, Pakistan’s financial deficit this year is estimated to be 1137 billion more than the target, which will reach 8 thousand 42 billion rupees in 2023-24.

According to the report, the government has set a fiscal deficit target of Rs 6,905 billion, the deficit is predicted to be 7.6 percent of GDP instead of 6.5 percent.

According to the report, the debt ratio will remain at 72.2 percent instead of the statutory target of 60 percent, this year the primary surplus plus 0.4 percent is likely to be 421 billion as per the target.

According to the report, total revenue will be 12.5 percent and total expenditure will be 20.1 percent of GDP.
