Food department staff were called in for destruction of unhealthy meat and other action
Lahore: Attempts to supply meat from dead animals to marriage halls were thwarted and 10 maunds of meat were recovered.
According to the police, 2 accused who recovered the meat of 10 dead animals from Mujahid Squad Naka New Ravi and supplied it to the marriage hall were arrested. The recovered carcasses include 7 tons of beef and 3 tons of mutton.
The accused were transporting dead meat from Farooqabad to Lahore in the vehicle. According to SP Zohaib Ranjha, the food department has also reached the spot for destruction of unhealthy meat and other actions, while the arrested accused Riaz and Shakhawat have been handed over to Shahdara Town police station for legal action.
