Karachi: During the Pakistan Super League Season 8 matches played at the National Stadium, road closures and poor traffic police strategy on alternative traffic routes left a large number of citizens facing worst traffic jams.
Due to the security of PSL Season 8 matches played at the National Stadium, the police closed the highway leading to the stadium from Hasan Square before the start of the match. The water-logged roads and sewage water disrupted the traffic system due to which citizens going home after offices and other work had to face nerve-racking situation.
From University Road Jail Chowrangi to Hasan Square to Nepa Chowrangi, from Newtown to Stadium Flyover and from there to Dalmia Millennium Mall, while University Road from Hasan Square to Jail Chowrangi witnessed the worst traffic jam in which hundreds of vehicles were stuck. The citizens stuck in the worst traffic jam said that holding cricket matches is welcome.
Why traffic police officers are not posted on alternative routes, only a few officers are stationed on the roads and the work is being done, a large number of citizens traveled in minutes in hours during the most difficult situation while many vehicles ran out of fuel. The citizens also faced double difficulties, students and patients going to the hospital had to face severe difficulties.
