The Lahore High Court has fixed for hearing the contempt of court petition against the Election Commission and the Governor for not giving the date of elections in Punjab.

It has been argued in the petition that the court ordered the election commission to give the date of the election after consulting the governor, despite the court orders, the election commission did not give the date of the election.

Earlier, on the order of the Lahore High Court, the Election Commission delegation met Governor Punjab Balighur Rahman at Governor House Punjab regarding the date of elections in Punjab.
