Successful organization of Women's Cricket League for the first time in the history of Swat

Swat: For the first time in the history of Swat Valley of Malakand Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Women’s Cricket League was successfully organized.

Deputy Commissioner Swat Dr. Qasim Ali Khan has said that women’s cricket league has been organized for the first time in the history of Swat district. 27 players from across the district are participating in the event. Women players are calling this league a positive start. She hopes that such a tournament will provide more opportunities for women to advance.

Deputy Commissioner Swat said that our girls are stepping into the field with education, medicine and armed forces, women cricketers have become pioneers of social change beyond the boundaries of cricket fields. She has used her platform to raise awareness about important issues like gender equality, women’s rights and education.

Extending far beyond sports to positively impact communities and societies around the world, Qasim Ali Khan said the future looks exceptionally promising as women’s cricket continues to grow. With the support, investment and opportunities women cricketers are poised to achieve even greater milestones, their journey reminds us of the limitless potential within each individual and the importance of nurturing talent regardless of gender.

He said that women’s cricket stands as a ray of hope and success. which demonstrates the incredible heights that can be achieved through talent, hard work and determination, also acknowledge this important progress and pledge your support for a future where women in sport are celebrated. They should be respected and given equal opportunities.

The first match between women’s cricket teams was played between Mengura XI cricket team and Kabal XI, Mengura XI defeated Kabal XI by seven runs after a thrilling contest.

Kabal XI team won the toss and decided to bowl first, Mingora XI cricket team scored 129 runs in the allotted ten overs, in which Munahal scored 76 runs and Mahwesh scored 28 runs.

In response to the target, the team of Kabal XI adopted an aggressive approach and scored 96 runs but could not give their team success. Similarly, Mingora XI team won the match by defeating Kabul team by seven runs.

On the special instructions of Deputy Commissioner Swat, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Babuzi Luqman Khan, Assistant Commissioner Kabal Junaid Khan, Taekwondo International Gold Medalist Ayesha Ayaz and others distributed trophies, certificates and cash prizes among the players.

In the end, Ayaz Naik, the organizer of the match, thanked the district administration and organizers and expressed the hope that they will take steps to promote sports and provide more opportunities to the players.
