Formation of a committee to control the ongoing inflation in the country

Islamabad: The Economic Coordination Committee (ICC) of the Cabinet has established a core group consisting of four federal secretaries to control inflation.

According to the details, the meeting of the economic coordination committee of the cabinet was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of caretaker finance minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, in which the officials of the ministry of finance, planning, trade, food security, industries, production and energy participated.

In the meeting, a core group consisting of four federal secretaries has been established to control inflation. According to the Ministry of Finance, Secretary Planning, Secretary Industry Production, Secretary Commerce, Secretary Food Security will join the committee.

The committee will submit a report on controlling inflation and demand and supply of essential commodities.

The IT Ministry presented a summary of the Telecom Infrastructure Sharing Framework at the meeting. According to the announcement of the Ministry of Finance, the release of IMT spectrum has been approved for the improvement of next generation mobile broadband services, and the formation of an advisory committee for the release of solid IMT spectrum has also been approved.

The Economic Co-ordination Committee of the Cabinet has also given in-principle approval to name Tawraqi Steel Mills as National Steel Complex and it will have to be approved by the Law Division. According to the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Energy has been approved to continue the supply of gas to all fertilizer plants.
