The official price of milk fixed at Rs 200, is already being sold at Rs 230 in the city

Karachi: The new official retail price of milk in Shahr Quaid has been fixed at Rs 200 per litre.

Commissioner Karachi has increased the retail price of milk by Rs 20 and fixed the new retail price from Rs 180 to Rs 200 per litre. This price is fixed for buffalo milk with 6% fat content.

Commissioner Karachi after consultation with representatives of dairy farmers, wholesalers and retailers issued notification of new prices which will be implemented immediately.

According to the notification, the farm rate of milk is Rs 180 and the wholesale price is fixed at Rs 188 per litre.

It should be noted that milk is already being sold at Rs 230 a liter at the retail level in the city, with an increase of Rs 20 in the official price, the retail price is expected to reach Rs 250 a litre.
