Islamabad: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) denied reports regarding re-verification of mobile SIMs and issuance of a SIM on passport.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) issued a clarification on the ongoing news in the media regarding ‘reverification of mobile SIMs’ and issuance of a SIM on passport, saying that such news are not true as the government No such decision has been made.
In response to the news circulating in various media outlets, it is stated that no such decision by the government has been taken as of yet on matters related to the re-verification of #SIMs in #Pakistan especially in KPK & the issuance of one SIM on a passport.

PTA clarified that no decision has been taken regarding issuing a SIM on passport in Pakistan, especially Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and roaming mobile SIMs in Afghanistan have already been blocked.
