Pakistan football team has appointed Stephen Constantine as the new head coach of the national football team. Constantine has joined the Pakistan football squad for the World Cup qualifiers.
According to the Pakistan Football Federation, 60-year-old Stephen Constantine is currently appointed as the coach for the World Cup qualifiers only for a short period, with a decision on a longer-term contract to be made later.
A senior PFF official has confirmed that Constantine has joined the camp after arriving in Pakistan to prepare for the World Cup qualifiers.
Constantine has previously been the head coach of the national teams of Nepal, Sudan, Malawi, Rwanda and India.
Under his coaching, the Indian team rose from 173rd to 96th position from March 2015 to December 2018.
According to PFF, Stephen Constantine has been given this responsibility based on his familiarity with Asian football.
It should be noted that the World Cup qualifiers between Pakistan and Cambodia will be held on October 12 and 17.
On the other hand, PFF in a statement appreciated the services of Shahzad Anwar, who has been coaching the Pakistan football team for the past one year.
