Washington: The Joe Biden administration has announced that it is admitting Israel to the US Visa Waiver Program (VWP), which will allow visa-free entry for Israeli citizens starting November 30.
According to international media reports, the above-mentioned decision of the US government came after the statement given by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, which said that such a decision would be a victory for the religious nationalist government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
US Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Meyerkas said the decision further strengthens the security, economic and people-to-people ties between the US and Israel.
U.S. officials added that Palestinian-Americans living in the West Bank and the United States are now able to enter Israel without a visa and fly in and out of Ben Gurion Airport, making travel easier for those Americans. Barriers are reduced.
