Roche, the Swiss pharma company that manufactures the Avastin injection, has issued a statement on the issue of special injections to save the sight of diabetic patients.
In a statement, the pharma company said that Avastin was approved in more than 130 countries, including the US, for the treatment of cancer.
According to the company, Pakistani authorities have attributed the vision impairment to contamination by a third-party supplier.
The pharma company further said in this regard that it strongly condemns this criminal act of counterfeiting. According to the company, they are fully cooperating with the authorities to protect patients from counterfeiting.
