Islamabad: The High Court reserved its decision on Imran Khan’s plea for in-camera proceedings.
The hearing on PTI chairman’s bail application in the cipher case was held in the Islamabad High Court, in which barrister Salman Safdar and prosecutor Shah Khawar advocate appeared on behalf of the petitioner before Chief Justice Amir Farooq.
During the hearing, the Chief Justice said that only 2 lawyers should stand on the rostrum, this is not a case with jail facilities.
Prosecutor Shah Khawar told the court that I want the petitioner’s counsel to make arguments and then just place some exhibits before the court, to which lawyer Barrister Salman Safdar said that there is no denying that the trial is being conducted under the Official Secrets Act. Is. Security concerns have been cited as the reason for the jail trial in this case. If the court deems it, unnecessary persons can be thrown out of the court.
The court said that if it has to be open, everything will be open. If not, then everything will not happen. The FIA prosecutor said that in three to four days we will submit the challan, on which the Chief Justice remarked that he will see the record of the case, then decide how to proceed.
Later, the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court reserved the decision on the plea of in camera proceedings of PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s bail plea in the cipher case.
Chief Justice Amir Farooq remarked that now the court hearings will be live streaming. If there is a live stream, the whole world will see the court proceedings. As Chief Justice, this process will start from my court. We should prepare accordingly.
