Chairman Cotton Gener’s Forum Ehsanul Haque says that cotton crop has been severely damaged due to whitefly and rains.
Ehsan-ul-Haq has said in his statement that in this situation there is a fear of not achieving the production target of 1 crore 27 lakh bales of cotton, which may limit the production of cotton to 9 million bales this year.
He has further said that the attack of white fly has increased due to the failure of the Meteorological Department to report the rise in temperature.
Chairman Cotton Gener’s Forum has also said that the price of cotton has reduced to 500 rupees per maund, the price of cotton in Punjab has come down to 19,000 rupees and in Sindh it has come down to 18,000 rupees.
