Dubai: Pakistan once again returned to the first position in the ICC ODI rankings.
After losing by 122 runs in the fifth one-day match against South Africa on Sunday, the Australian team moved from first to third position in the ODI rankings, while Pakistan returned to number one.
Despite the victory in the final of the Asia Cup against Sri Lanka, India’s dream of becoming the first in the ODI rankings before the World Cup could not be fulfilled.
After the defeat to Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup, the Pakistani team went from the first position to the third position, which gave India a rare opportunity to reach the top, but it was necessary for Australia to lose matches to South Africa and India to Bangladesh. India and Australia will face each other in a three-match series from September 22, where they will have a chance to reclaim the top position, while Pakistan will not play an ODI before the World Cup.
The first match between India and Australia will be played on September 22 in Mohali, the second match on September 24 in Indore and the third match on September 27 in Baroda.
