Islamabad: Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Atta Bandial while talking to the lawyers during the last case in the courtroom said, “Good to see you all my friends”.
The lawyers appearing in the cases expressed their best wishes for the Chief Justice. The Chief Justice said that thank you, I am also praying for you.
Lawyer Mian Bilal said that even when it was your first case in the High Court, I appeared before you and today it is your last case in the Supreme Court.
Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial while talking to the lawyer said that your case has become ineffective but if you give arguments then this idea is good to keep the heart happy.
Lawyer Mian Bilal said that you always listened to us with patience, on which the Chief Justice said that it is our duty to listen to everyone with patience, we always got support and learning from the bar, wearing a black coat we bar ourselves. Consider part of Justice Sahir Ali used to say that the bar is our mother, God willing, we will meet in the bar room.
The Chief Justice said that thanks to the colleagues of the media who kept me diligent, welcome the criticism of the media, the media must criticize the decisions but not the judges, in response to the criticism, the judges cannot defend themselves and the judge. Before criticizing, be sure to check whether the criticism is based on truth or speculation. Criticism of judges should not be based on lies.
The Chief Justice of Pakistan said that I am thankful to Allah that whoever took service from me for the country and justice, fulfilled his duty for Allah.
It is Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial’s last day on the bench before his retirement. He thanked the lawyers and journalists. Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Ayesha Malik were present in the bench along with the Chief Justice.
