The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to launch a nationwide operation against tax evaders.
According to sources, in the first phase, a list of 11,000 people from major cities including Lahore and Karachi has been prepared.
The list includes industrialists, mill owners, traders, property dealers and others.
According to FBR sources, the persons included in the list did not join the tax net at the speed of business.
Sources say that there is solid evidence against the tax evaders, the documents will have to be given within a week on the tax notice.
