Pakistan Academy Selection Committee Chairman Muhammad Ali Naqvi has announced the committee members for selecting films from Pakistan for Oscar Academy Awards.
This year’s Pakistan Academy selection committee includes writer Fatima Bhutto, filmmaker Bilal Lashari and actor Fawad Khan.
The newly elected chairman, filmmaker Muhammad Ali Naqvi, announced the new appointments through a press release issued this week.
The committee is to select Pakistan’s official entry for the ‘Best Foreign Language Film’ category of the Academy Awards, for which the committee will review the films next month.
The Pakistani Academy Selection Committee has included the best and most successful people of Pakistani cinema, including Chairman Muhammad Ali Naqvi, director Bilal Lashari of Geo Films’ presentation ‘The Legend of Mulajt’, actor Fawad Khan, actor Ahmed Ali Akbar, actress Nadia. Afghan, writer Fatima Bhutto, director Mehreen Jabbar, documentary filmmaker Haya Fatima, director Saeem Sadiq, social activist Fareeha Altaf and documentary filmmaker Madeeha Syed.
