sexual harassment incident; School sealed off, 50 more videos recovered

Karachi: Incident of harassment and blackmailing of female staff in Gulshan Hadid’s private school, Assistant Commissioner Bin Qasim sealed the said school.

Assistant Commissioner Bin Qasim Town Nazir Abaru while talking to media representatives said that a sad incident has happened in a private school in which the accused should be punished.

On receiving the information about the incident, the police took timely action and arrested the principal of the school and registered a case against him.

The Deputy Commissioner was instructed by the Education Department and the school has been sealed on the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner.

He said that the future of the children studying in the said school is connected and he is sure that the education department will definitely find a solution in this regard and efforts will be made not to affect the children.

The Assistant Commissioner says that the work of registration of schools belongs to the Education Department and it will see which school is registered and which is unregistered.

He said that he will submit his recommendations to the Deputy Commissioner. A committee should be formed which includes the officers of the Education Department and the committee should visit the private schools in the entire division including Gulshan Hadid and talk to their teachers and children if they have any complaints. So their solution should be found immediately.

The Assistant Commissioner said that this incident has depressed all the parents and they are also depressed. First of all, the safety of the children is important and the respect of the teachers should be taken care of.

He said that the administration has sealed the school, the education department is conducting an inquiry in this regard and further action will be taken against whoever is involved.

SHO Steel Town Nand Lal told Express that the incident came to know after the leakage of the CCTV video installed in the school, after which the principal and owner of the school Irfan Ghafoor was arrested and the arrested accused said that he was being blackmailed by Ali Lodhi and Shakeel and other accused. and a demand of Rs.10 lakh was being made.

The SHO said that the school was established a year ago in which about 250 to 300 children were under education and the school was taught by male teachers as well as women.

The SHO said that the police have obtained more than 50 videos from the CCTV installed in the school and the arrested main accused used to sexually harass the women teachers of the school by blackmailing them and blackmailing them for employment.

Sub-Inspector Ali Asghar Abaro, investigating officer of the case, told Express that they have received more than 50 videos and in these videos, the accused kept blackmailing and sexually harassing 8 to 10 women.

He said that the investigation police has also recovered the mobile phone of another accused involved in the incident and there are many videos in this phone.

He said that the investigation police is trying to gather all the affected women so that they come forward and record their statements.

The investigating officer said that 2 to 3 more accused are involved in the incident and it is possible that during the investigation, the names and roles of more accused will also come out, and raiding operations are going on to arrest them.

The arrested accused and the affected women will be medically examined and the DVR installed in the school and all the videos will be sent to the Punjab Forensic Laboratory.

The statements of all the teachers, staff, janitors and kitchen workers of the school against the accused will be recorded.

An affected woman has contacted the police, whose statement on 161 will be recorded, while the police has obtained the addresses and mobile phone numbers of other affected women and soon the police will also contact these affected women.
