Rawalpindi: Transgenders protested against high electricity bills, protesters blocked Murree Road and shouted slogans affecting traffic flow.
On the call of Rawalpindi Shemail Association Chairperson Almas Bobby, a large number of transgender women gathered outside the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (ISCO) office Murir Chowk office and registered a protest.
The protesters were carrying placards and banners with slogans written on them. The protesting transgenders marched to Murree Road and blocked Murree Chowk and kept beating their chests.
He said that eunuchs have been affected like other people due to high electricity bills, the government should withdraw the increase in electricity bills immediately.
The transgenders dispersed peacefully after recording their protest.
