Karachi: The statement of the arrested driver who crushed 5 people including a father, 2 young daughters and a niece in Gulshan Iqbal area has come out, in which he said that he fled the scene in panic after the accident.
Muawiya, the arrested driver of the double cabin car that crushed 5 people including a father, two young daughters and a niece in Gulshan Iqbal Block 7 on Sunday, said in his video statement that he left home with a black double cabin car on August 27 around 6:30 pm and Gulshan Iqbal He turned his car from Utern near Iqra University. At this point the car’s accelerator wire stuck, and the car went out of control.

According to the driver, when the vehicle went out of control, it ran over many people including children standing on the roadside. Meanwhile, the rickshaw was also hit. After the accident, the angry citizens present at the spot started pelting stones at him, on which I got scared and ran away from there. The video of the accident went viral on social media, from which the injured came to know.
The arrested driver said that his father had gone to the hospital to visit those injured in the accident and that his father would pay the expenses incurred for the treatment, apart from the damage they suffered.
According to the police, 2 of his friends were also present with the arrested driver and the driver also has his computerized driving license. The arrested driver will be produced in court on Saturday. The court will decide on whatever issues are settled with the injured persons. In the case filed against the arrested driver, 2 provisions of speeding driving and injuring citizens have been added, under which the driver can be sentenced to 7 years in prison.
