The incident took place in the underpass from Nazimabad to Liaquatabad
Karachi: A motorcyclist was killed and two were injured when a signboard fell on the Nazimabad underpass.
According to rescue officials, a signboard fell in the underpass from Nazimabad to Liaquatabad, and 3 people on motorcycles were injured, who were immediately taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Later, a motorcyclist could not escape.
According to the police, Kashif and Aamir, residents of Shah Faisal Colony, were riding on one of the motorcycles that fell under the Garnu Ale signboard, while Shahid, a resident of Azizabad, was riding the other motorcycle.
On the other hand, Mayor Karachi took notice of the board falling incident in Nazimabad underpass and asked for a report from the authorities, upon which the DG Technical Services submitted a preliminary report, which stated that Mohsin Bhopali on behalf of drug addicts. The accident took place due to the underpass being cut. According to the report, the drunken people also cut the reinforcing board.
On the report, Mayor Karachi ordered the KMC officers and staff to take strict action against such persons. Citizens should also identify the people who secretly steal from underpasses and bridges so that immediate and effective action can be taken against them.
