Islamabad High Court's order to investigate the issue of elevator closure

Islamabad: The registrar of the Islamabad High Court has issued an inquiry order on the issue of the sudden closure of the court’s lift.

According to details, on August 25, following the petition filed by chairman PTI against the sentence in the Tosha Khana case, senior lawyer Ayaz Latif Khosa and other lawyers were trapped by the elevator, which Rescue 1122 and court staff had to get out with great difficulty. was taken out

The Registrar High Court took notice of the incident and ordered DG Pakistan Public Works to conduct an inquiry and submit a report within two days.

In a letter sent by the registrar to the DG Pakistan Public Works, it has been asked that all the lifts in the building should be inspected and expert lift operators should be appointed, and if necessary, repaired.

The letter said that the PWD should appoint an operator in the lift of the High Court building to avoid any untoward incident in the future, well-trained and experts of the PWD should be appointed to operate the lift.

It is written in the post that on August 25, at 12 o’clock, the elevator of the Judges Block broke down and got stuck on the second floor.

The registrar wrote that when the technical staff of PWD was called for checking, the lift was showing overloading error, the technical staff failed to clear the error and evacuate the people trapped in the lift despite several attempts. CDA rescue personnel later broke the lift door and pulled out the trapped people.

The registrar of the Islamabad High Court wrote in a letter to the DG Pakistan Public Works that an inquiry should be made within two days to tell what was wrong with the lift, due to which lawyers and media representatives, including senior lawyers, had to face problems.
