Lahore: Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Siraj-ul-Haq announced a nationwide strike on Saturday, September 2, against electricity bills and inflation.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haque said that the people will come out on the streets from Karachi to Chitral against the cruel decision.
According to Jamaat-e-Islami spokesperson, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haque called a high-level emergency meeting in which central leadership and provincial leaders will participate.
In the meeting, the current political situation of the country was reviewed, further acceleration of the ongoing movement against inflation and consultation on the schedule was held. A protest sit-in in Islamabad was also considered against the brutal increase in electricity bills.
The spokesman said that Jamaat-e-Islami will not leave the people alone.
