An al-Qaeda affiliate attacked a military checkpoint in northwestern Syria, killing 11 soldiers and injuring more than 20.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says the attack was carried out by a group called Ansar al-Tawheed.
The attackers first detonated a huge blast and then stormed the check post of the government forces.
The Observer Group says that 11 people were killed and more than 20 injured in the attack.
It should be noted that a few days ago, Russian and Syrian warplanes carried out airstrikes in the northwestern provinces of Idlib and Aleppo, killing several fighters.
