Lahore: Another player has been added to the Pakistani squad for the Asia Cup.
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board, left-handed batsman Saud Shakeel has also been included in Pakistan’s 17-man squad while Tayyab Tahir will remain with the traveling reserve team.
Among the players in the squad are Babar Azam (captain), Shadab Khan (vice-captain), Abdullah Shafiq, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imamul-Haq, Muhammad Haris (wicketkeeper), Muhammad Nawaz, Muhammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper). , Wasim Jr., Naseem Shah, Salman Ali Agha, Saud Shakeel, Shaheen Afridi and Osama Mir.
It should be noted that the chief selector of the national cricket team, Inzamam-ul-Haq, had announced the Pakistani squad for the series against Afghanistan and the Asia Cup on August 9.
Anzam-ul-Haq had said on this occasion that Saud Shakeel has been selected for the tour of Afghanistan and if necessary, we can select him for the Asia Cup as well.
After playing the last match of the three-match series against Afghanistan on Saturday, the national team will reach Multan from Colombo on Sunday, where after a day of rest on Monday, the players will participate in training for the Asia Cup from Tuesday.
The team management has given relaxation to the players participating in the Lincoln Premier League whereby Babar Azam, Imamul Haq and Naseem Shah will travel to Lahore on Sunday and join the team on Monday evening.
Pakistan team captain Babar Azam will also hold a media conference before the start of the training session. The opening match of the Asia Cup will be played between Pakistan and Nepal in Multan on August 30.
