Ordering the Federal Government to take measures for the recovery of missing persons

Karachi: The Sindh High Court ordered the federal government to take steps on the requests related to the recovery of other missing persons including a 14-year-old girl.

A 2-member bench headed by Justice Nimatullah Phalputo heard the petitions related to the recovery of the 14-year-old girl and other missing persons. The court declared the police reports as traditional and ordered the federal government to take steps to recover the 2 missing persons since 2009.

The court remarked that Muhammad Amin and Muhammad Ilyas should be traced wherever they are. Any subsidiary of the Federal Ministry of Interior should find and submit a report.

During the hearing, the investigating officer said that 25 JITs and 12 provincial task force meetings have been held to trace the two missing persons. Both the missing persons could not be traced. Imran Mayo Advocate argued that Faiz Muhammad was missing from Korangi area. The court ordered to register a case of missing citizen Faiz Muhammad.

Expressing indignation over the non-recovery of the 14-year-old girl Afshan, the court summoned the SSP Central. Police officials said that the missing citizen Zainul Abedin returned home. The court disposed of the petition of the citizen’s disappearance.
