Negotiations between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have been completed.
It is learned that an agreement has been reached with the IMF on preliminary steps, with a final agreement likely to be reached soon.
The finance secretary has said that the IMF mission will issue a detailed statement after approval from Washington.
The secretary of the Ministry of Finance says that the IMF has given the MEFP document, it has been assured that the staff level agreement will be finalized soon, and the IMF loan agreement will be finalized soon.
All things have been settled between Pakistan and IMF, external sources of income have been confirmed, IMF mission will issue a detailed statement.
It is clear that on the last day of the negotiations, the IMF delegation went to the Prime Minister’s House and spoke to the Prime Minister in Lahore via video link. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar was also present in the video link meeting.
