In the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, a young man presented himself for arrest after killing his sister in the name of honor.
According to Indian media reports, the police say that a 22-year-old man named Riaz from Barabanki area of Uttar Pradesh beheaded his 18-year-old sister Asifa and took her head to the police station.
According to ASP Ashutosh Mishra, Riyaz allegedly hacked his sister’s head with a sharp weapon and took her head in his hands and came to the police station and arrested him.
According to the police, Asifa ran away from home with her lover Chand Babu, who was a resident of the same area, but after a few days, the police recovered her and arrested Chand Babu on the complaint of the girl’s family.
According to media reports, ASP says that after arresting Riyaz, the police team reached the spot and collected the evidence and sent the dead body for post-mortem.
Locals said that Riyaz was against his sister’s relationship and the two often clashed over the issue, police said.
ASP says that a case has been registered and the accused has been arrested.
