Arif Khan said that the first film Phool Aur Kante proved to be a super hit, I was nominated as the best villain of the year for Filmfare Award, he laughed and said that those days fans were saying after watching the film that Ajay Devgan should have been the villain and I should have been the hero in this film. Along with this, he also said that maybe if I had become a hero at that time, it might have become difficult for me to leave Bollywood.
Arif Khan while telling the story of leaving Bollywood said that now people are running after four things, respect, wealth, fame and woman, he said that after the success of the first film I got all these things overnight. But what was really lacking was peace of mind. But at that time it was not clear what was missing.
According to the former actor, those days he was very restless, my mother was very religious, she used to be very angry with me, but my father was quite happy with my fame.
Arif Khan had to further tell that my elder brother Yusuf Khan used to work in a bank, he went on retirement and when he returned, he grew a beard. Those days I was busy in my film world, I had friendly relations with my brother, my account etc. was seen by him.
The former Bollywood actor said that one day during the Tahajjud prayer in the mosque, the companions in the first row were crying, hearing their crying, I was feeling scared, when I inquired about the reason for crying, I was told that they were crying for all humanity and Muslims.
Arif Khan said that I got up and performed ablution and prayed two rakats and prayed to Allah that I am a sinner, but if these people and their cries are true, then guide me and connect with them.
