Cypher Investigations;  FI has summoned Chairman PTI, indicating unilateral action if he does not appear

Islamabad: In the wake of the cabinet sub-committee’s decision on the cipher and audio leaks, FIA’s investigation accelerated and the investigation team issued a third summons notice to the former prime minister and Tehreek-e-Insaf chief for July 25, while Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Asad Umar were also summoned.

According to the details, on the orders of the Ministry of Interior, DGFIA formed a five-member inquiry team headed by Director FIA Islamabad Zone Rana Abdul Jabbar on October 5 to investigate the cipher and audio leak.

Similarly, one grade 19 officer from 3 intelligence agencies has also been included in the inquiry team. The investigative team is continuing to investigate the audio leak and other references, including the cipher and its copy.

Now the statement of the former prime minister’s principal secretary Azam Khan regarding the cipher has also come out, so the team speeding up the investigation has issued a third summons notice to the former prime minister and summoned him to the FIA ​​headquarters on July 25 at 12 noon.

It has been further stated in the summons notice that you have been given notices to appear before the joint investigation team twice before, but no investigation was conducted. Similarly, the notice has further said that you should bring the documents related to Cipher Telegram with you and further warned that if the notice is not followed, unilateral action may be taken based on the available evidence.

Apart from this, FIA also summoned Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Asad Umar on July 24.

It should be remembered that on the request of FIA in the cipher case, former Foreign Secretary Sohail Mehmood has joined the FIA ​​inquiry and recorded his statement. Likewise, FIA also issued two summons notices to the former prime minister’s principal secretary Azam Khan during the investigation, but at that time he indicated that he would go abroad with his family and join the inquiry after reaching home by the middle of November 2022.

After that, his recent statement has come out, while FIAI issued summon notices to Asad Umar and Shah Mehmood Qureshi, in which Shah Mehmood Qureshi submitted a statement through his lawyer.

Now Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Asad Umar have also been summoned to appear before the joint inquiry team of FIA on July 24. Shah Mehmood Qureshi has been directed to appear at the FIA ​​headquarters at 11:00 am and Asad Umar at 12:00 pm along with the documentary evidence and in the notices both the leaders have been warned that unilateral action can be taken in case of non-appearance.
