The Lahore High Court apologized for giving judicial officers to the Election Commission.
According to the sources, the Registrar Lahore High Court wrote a letter to the Secretary Election Commission on the issue of appointment of judicial officers as District Returning Officers and Returning Officers.
The Registrar of the Lahore High Court said in the letter that according to the orders of the Chief Justice, they are unable to provide judicial officers for the election.
The letter said that we apologize to you with a very heavy heart, there are currently more than 13 lakh 12 thousand pending cases in Punjab.
The registrar said in the letter that Punjab is already facing a shortage of judicial officers, provision of these officers for election will further increase the backlog of cases.
The registrar of the Lahore High Court added in the text of the letter that currently there is a shortage of 825 judicial officers in Punjab, the provision of judicial officers to the Election Commission will worsen the situation of pending cases.
