Action against illegal loan applications has been initiated, 43 loan applications have been blocked on the instructions of the IT Ministry.
Federal Minister for Information Technology (IT) Aminul Haq directed Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Major General Hafeezur Rehman to take immediate action against online loan applications and said that through social media platforms. The lending mafia is blackmailing simple people.
He said that PTA’s initiatives also include consultation and assistance with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).
Aminul Haque said that a campaign should also be conducted for the awareness of consumers so that citizens do not become victims of blackmailing mafia. People should also file complaints about such applications with PTA, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Cybercrime and local police.
