Islamabad: Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial constituted a bench to hear petitions against the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Act, 2023.
An eight-member larger bench of the Supreme Court will hear the petitions against the Procedure Act on July 21.
The Registrar’s Office has issued notices to all applicants and parties.
It should be noted that the applications against the Procedure Act have been fixed for re-hearing after Eid-ul-Adha. The Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Act was suspended by the Supreme Court before it became law.
The division in the Supreme Court on this issue was clear, while the legal profession also favored the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Act.
