The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Shahabuddin Dilawar and several senior members of the Taliban who inaugurated the wells in the Qashqari oil field in Sir Pul province.

On the other hand, Kabul Times, quoting a statement from the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, reported that there are 10 wells in the Qashqari Basin and 200 tons of oil are being extracted from nine.
