In the last financial year till May, for the first time, Pakistan exported fishery products worth more than 500 million dollars.
This success is due to Public Private Partnership efforts, the government providing the policy framework and the private sector adding value to production, resulting in the country earning more foreign exchange.
According to the Federal Bureau of Statistics, in May this year, Pakistan has sold fish and fish products worth 12 billion 40 crores to the world, China is buying 60% of our fish products.
When licenses to sell fish to China expired in September, the Maritime Affairs Department of the Government of Pakistan assisted the private sector in renewing them, resulting in an 82 percent increase in May fish exports.
The task force is building linkages between federal and provincial government agencies.
The Ministry of Maritime Marine Fisheries Department is actively supporting the task force, the industrial sector is flourishing in a favorable environment.
To increase fish exports, there is a need to invest in increasing production and value addition of production.
The Maritime Task Force believes that if there is a political agreement on the economy, the world will see it as a message to invest from Pakistan.
