Controversial Law Amendment: Demonstrations Against Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel

Tel Aviv: Thousands of Israeli protesters have been protesting in the capital Tel Aviv and other cities against proposed changes to the judicial system, which they say will make the Israeli government authoritarian.

According to international media reports, protesters have continued to protest against Benjamin Netanyahu and his administration, who became prime minister again last December from a coalition of ultra-orthodox Jews and the extreme right wing.

Israelis have continued to protest since the changes were proposed in the Israeli parliament in January, with a key provision of the bill being voted on in parliament on Monday.

Israeli media estimated the number of people at Saturday’s demonstration in Tel Aviv at 150,000.

Speaking at the rally, Israeli historian Yuval Noah Harari said that Netanyahu’s government, which is going to take action against our country and the Israeli dream, we have to stand against it. He said that if the Netanyahu government does not stop, it will soon learn what happens when we are angry.
