The body of the missing youth in Faisalabad was found in the drain, the relatives blamed the police for the death.
The body of a 22-year-old youth who went missing during a search last night in Ghulam Mohammadabad area of Faisalabad was recovered from the drain the next day. Marks of torture were also found on the victim’s body.
On the request of the heirs, a case of murder was registered and two police officers were detained and the investigation of the incident started.
According to the police spokesman, Syed Mohammad Amjad, a resident of Ghulam Mohammadabad, had requested that his 22-year-old son was outside the house on Thursday night when two policemen stopped him for a search, since then he has gone missing. His tortured body was recovered from a drain.
The police shifted the body of the victim to the hospital for post-mortem while the two policemen have been suspended and taken into custody and a team headed by Superintendent of Police (SP) Lyallpur Town has started investigation into the incident.
