Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated the Land Information and Management System Center of Excellence, Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir also participated in the inauguration ceremony.
According to the announcement, the establishment of the Land Information and Management System Center of Excellence is a joint initiative of the political and military leadership of the nation.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by federal ministers, provincial chief secretaries, agricultural experts and senior military officials.
Lim’s Center of Excellence aims to end food insecurity and reduce agricultural imports, the state-of-the-art center will work on increasing agricultural productivity and better utilization of land.
According to the statement, the purpose of setting up LIMS is to increase food security and agricultural exports and reduce the burden on the national exchequer by reducing imports, while millions of acres of uncultivated land will be brought under cultivation.
