PTI leader arrested at Torkham border while fleeing Afghanistan

Peshawar: Tehreek-e-Insaf leader who tried to escape to Afghanistan through Torkham border crossing was arrested.

According to FIA officials, Tehreek-e-Insaf Rawalpindi leader Chaudhry Abdul Basit was fleeing to Afghanistan through Torkham border crossing when FIA arrested him.

The accused Abdul Basit is the son of former PTI MPA from Rawalpindi Chaudhary Amjad Mehmood, whose name was included in the ECL.

According to FI officials, the accused had prepared travel documents for Europe through which he was supposed to move from Afghanistan to Europe. The accused was handed over to Rawalpindi Police after necessary action.
